Description

Grant flatters George Burns: “Barbara and I have concluded, after deliberating at least a second and a half, that you are a dear dear man, and we love you very much”

TLS signed “Cary,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, Faberge personal letterhead, January 26, 1981. Grant writes a humorously amicable letter to George Burns, penning the greeting, “My dear George,” and writing, in full: “Barbara and I have concluded, after deliberating at least a second and a half, that you are a dear dear man, and we love you very much. Your white rose will be pressed in my ‘Happy Memory’ book. Anytime, anywhere, George,” with his wife Barbara adding a brief ALS below, “Thank you for those perfectly red roses—which so delighted me. If your sister Goldie is as charming as you, don’t you dare bring her around here: but you can come anytime.” In fine condition, with light creasing. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
