Signed book: Journal of the House of Representatives of the United States, at the First Session of the Eighth Congress, in the Twenty-Eighth Year of the Independence of the United States. Washington: Samuel Harrison Smith. Hardcover with slipcase, 5.5 x 8.75, 684 pages, not including the index. Signed in ink on the first free end page, “Timothy Pickering.” In good condition, with heavy wear and paper loss to the cover and spine, reparative tape holding the inner hinge together, heavy toning, soiling, and foxing throughout, a Salem Athenaeum bookplate affixed to the front pastedown page with pencil and ink notations in another hand, and the words “Duplicate. For Exchange” stamped towards the bottom of the first free end page. Top flap of slipcase separated on all sides but one with pieces of reparative tape. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
