From the Federal Pen: “This isn’t much of a card—it’s the best I could do in here”

Organized crime boss who became a major media celebrity. After an extensive operation that cost $75 million, Gotti, who had repeatedly eluded the law, was finally convicted of murder and racketeering in 1992. As a repeat offender, he was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole and sent to federal prison in Marion, Illinois, where he died in 2002. ALS inside a Christmas card, signed “Johnny,” one page, measuring 10 x 7 open, no date, but postmarked December 3, 1993. Short letter written inside a Christmas card to “Barbara & family.” In full: “This isn’t much of a card—it’s the best I could do in here. I want to wish you, your Father, Gina, Reynold, your Brother & his son, the very best Christmas Holidays ever. Take care & my love to all! P.S. Wish Mary a Merry Christmas also.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Gotti’s hand and signed “Gotti #18261-053” in the return address area. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
