Colorful original hand-painted animation cel of the Darling’s nursemaid Nana sitting in the nursery amid books and building blocks. The cel has been trimmed to the outline of the figures, as was customary when being prepared for presentation, and is set against a specially prepared color background of the children’s nursery. Cel is housed in its original cream 18.25 x 17.25 mat with the pencil caption “Walt Disney’s ‘Peter Pan” and the red “Original WDP” ink stamp; the mat is boldly signed and inscribed in red artist’s pencil, “To Alice Gorham, All best wishes, Walt Disney.” Framed to an overall size of 19.5 x 18.5. In fine, clean condition. An extremely well-preserved cel and signature from one of Disney’s timeless classics, which incidentally was the final Disney film in which all nine members of Disney's Nine Old Men worked together as directing animators.
