Description

Passport for Elizabeth Taylor’s first child

Michael Wilding Jr’s personal passport, number 11142, issued on August 14, 1953. Passport measures 3.75 x 6, and contains his typed personal information on the second page, signed at the bottom in blue ink by his father Michael Wilding, “Michael H. Wilding, Michael C. G. Wilding.” Affixed to page four is Wilding Jr’s 3 x 3 passport snapshot, signed vertically at the top, “Michael H. Wilding by Michael C. G. Wilding.” Photo bears an embossed State Department seal over facial area. Several of the inside pages bear official visa stamps from London, Rome, and Kastrup-Denmark. Tucked inside the passport is a handwritten letter by Wilding, to the attention of the Los Angeles Passport Agency reading: “I Michael Wilding, father of Michael & Christopher Wilding, am aware of the fact that they are going abroad with their mother, Elizabeth Taylor Todd, & I have no objection to application for passports on their behalf.” Clipped section of embossed seal cancelling the passport, missing lower right corners to all pages, expected handling wear and stamps, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by a clipped 1.5 x 2 passport photo of Elizabeth Taylor, two 3 x 3 passport snapshots of Taylor’s next husband Michael Todd, and a 5.5 x 3.25 photo of Todd walking past an airplane. A very personal item with direct relation to Taylor. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
