The tallest documented human being of modern times, Wadlow (1918–1940), who reached a height of 8’11”, made his living as a touring novelty attraction and shoe company spokesman before dying at the age of 22. Vintage glossy 3.5 x 5.5 photo of Wadlow standing next to his normal-sized father, signed on the reverse in pencil, “Robert Wadlow.” In very good condition with scratching to the emulsion, a horizontal crease crossing his upper body and signature, some crazing, areas of silvering to the darker portions, and staining and soiling to the reverse.
