ALS signed “G. Bernard Shaw,” one page, both sides, 3.25 x 4.5, Adelphi Terrace letterhead, June 4, 1903. Letter to Richard Duffy, Jr. In full: “I am sorry I was out when you called. How long will you stay in London? Just at present I am rehearsing a play, which makes it almost impossible for me to make – or at least to keep – any appointment; but I think I shall be here pretty certainly tomorrow from 11.30 to 12.30. After that I am afraid I shall not be able to make any appointment before Wednesday next.” In fine condition, with some scattered light toning and soiling. A surprisingly cordial letter from the sometimes grouchy playwright in the midst of work. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
