American comic actor (1886–1966) who began in vaudeville and went on to become one of the most popular entertainers in the golden age of television. His ‘serious’ supporting turn in The Diary of Anne Frank earned him an Academy Award nomination in 1959. Comical vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, boldly signed in-person in fountain pen, “Sincerely, Ed Wynn 1935.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of November 13, 1935, the date the signature was acquired.
