Indian actor (1924–1963) best remembered for his roles in The Thief of Baghdad and Black Narcissus, Sabu was the first Indian to achieve great success in Hollywood; however, he was restricted to stereotypical roles of Indians. He died at age 39 from a heart attack. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, Best wishes from Sabu.” In very good condition, with diagonal crease to bottom left corner, running right along inscription, a few light creases, and several blocks of silvering to facial area.
