Legendary film director (1892–1947) best known for his sophisticated comedies and the fabled ‘Lubitsch touch.’ Vintage glossy 8 x 10 Paramount Pictures 1935 publicity photo of Lubitsch sitting outside his Bel Air home, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul from Ernst Lubitsch.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of October 16, 1936, the date the signature was acquired. Printed caption on reverse describes Lubitschs’s home, “one of the finest in the film colony.” Scattered creases, dings, and surface marks and some light rubbing to finish, otherwise fine condition.
