On January 16, 1942, the plane in which Lombard was traveling en route to a war bond rally crashed into Mount Potosi near Las Vegas, killing all 22 aboard. Gorgeous vintage glossy 8 x 10 Paramount Pictures 1934 lavish publicity photo of Lombard with her hand to her face, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, Carole Lombard.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of January 14, 1935, the date the signature was acquired. Scattered creases, primarily to edges, small repaired tear to right edge, light rippling to emulsion, as well as light vertical streaking to emulsion, otherwise fine condition.
