Mercury astronaut who perished in the Apollo 1 flash fire. Color vintage 8 x 10 cardstock head-and-shoulders photo of Grissom in a jacket and tie, a Mercury 7 pin on his lapel, signed in black ink, “Gus Grissom.” Light overall scuffing, visible only at an angle, and a couple trivial corner tip creases, otherwise fine condition. Scarce, and highly desirable, in this size and format. Pre-certified Scott Cornish and RRAuction COA.
