Description

The longest-living Signer issues a payment

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Maryland (1737–1832) who was the longest-lived among his colleagues. Manuscript check, 6.25 x 3, filled out in another hand “Cashier of the Bank of Maryland, Pay to…or Bearer, twenty-five Dollars,” and signed at the conclusion, “Ch. Carroll of Carrolton,” dated March 16, 1830. Several cancellation cuts to body, a couple brushes to handwritten portion, and pooling of ink to several letters of signature and at the end, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
