In full: "The other day when I talked with you on the telephone, we discussed Jack's diet since the original list was rather vague. As I recall, you said that he was allergic to the items marked with red and that he might have the unmarked items. You also said that he might have root beer and V-8 juice, but could have no great quantity of milk. Does this also apply to cream? It was my understanding that you would send a revised list to his home in Washington and to me here in Hyannis Port. Undoubtedly, Jack has discussed all of this with Dr. de Gara; but he is always so vague about his personal habits that it would help if I had an idea of just what he can eat.
