Description

Eyebrow-raising content: " I am so glad you agree with me about the spanking…I am so glad there are no scars that will show"

ALS signed "G. W. Carver," one page, 8.5 x 11, Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute letterhead, November 30, 1934. Letter to Floyd Anderson. In part; "My, but it is fine to hear from my dear, handsome boy. I feared you were not well, hence my anexiety [sic]. I am glad that you are improving and hope you will soon be yourself again. I am so glad you agree with me about the spanking. We will have to talk it over when we get together. I am so glad there are no scars that will show. Dear, I want my young Edison to be extremely careful, as I want nothing to happen to him that will retard his progress…That is just what made Edison the man that he was…I am so anxious to see that cured leg, it must be great to have it well again, dear. You are no happier than I am." In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, uniform overall toning, and show-through from writing on opposite sides. An interesting homage to Edison, with a somewhat bizarre underlying theme. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
