Eminent American-born British writer (1888–1965), winner of the 1948 Nobel Prize in Literature, best known for such works as the epic poem The Waste Land and the plays Murder in the Cathedral and The Cocktail Party. Signed book: The Idea of a Christian Society. Later printing. Great Britain: Faber and Faber Limited, 1942. Hardcover with dustjacket, 5.5 x 8.25, 99 pages. Signed and inscribed on the title page, "Inscribed for Josef Paul Hodin by T. S. Eliot, 28.ii.45." In fine condition, with trivial separation along front hinge and light creasing to spine; the dustjacket shows some scattered light wear and sunning to its spine. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
