German field marshal (1891–1944) who earned the sobriquet ‘The Desert Fox’ for his tactical genius as Commander of the Afrika Korps. In 1944 he was implicated in a plot to assassinate Hitler; given the choice of suicide or a trial, he ended his own life with poison. DS, in German, signed in pencil, 'Rommel,' one page, 8.25 x 11.75, February 20, 1934. An official untranslated document, signed at the conclusion by Rommel as Major and Battalion Commander. Central horizontal and vertical fold, some scattered light creases and wrinkles, mild toning, and two punch holes to left side, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
