American actress (1906–1935) best remembered for her appearances in such comedy classics as Monkey Business, Horse Feathers, and Another Fine Mess. Though her death from carbon monoxide poisoning was ruled an accident, suspicious circumstances led to a number of theories of varying plausibility, including speculation that she was the victim of a ‘hit’ ordered by gangster ‘Lucky’ Luciano. Uncommon vintage glossy 8 x 10 MGM publicity photo, signed and inscribed in green fountain pen “To Bob, With regards, Thelma Todd” with Todd using the same “T” for her first and last name. In very good condition, with several noticeable creases to image and signature fairly light, but still completely legible. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
