Carson applies to AFRA in 1951 as an "announcer"

DS, signed "John W. Carson," one page both sides, 6.5 x 9, November 14, 1951. Application for membership in the American Federation of Radio Artists, signed at the bottom by Carson, who also adds his address, telephone number, and Social Security number. Carson checks off the "Announcer" box and notes he is seeking an Associate membership, and estimates his annual gross at $2000. Central vertical fold, expected stamps and notations, and some mild toning to top edge, otherwise fine condition. A very early and less-seen formal signature from the king of late night television. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
