At the peak of his fame, in the golden age of sports in the 1920s, he was ranked with Babe Ruth, Bill Tilden, Bobby Jones and Dempsey. Vintage glossy 7.75 x 9.75 photo of the bare-chested wrestler, signed and inscribed later in blue ballpoint, "To Jim, Sincerely, Ed Strangler Lewis." Reverse of photo bears an August 29, 1942, L.A.
