American admiral (1885–1966) who led the Allied naval forces in the Pacific in World War II. Vintage 14 x 11 heavy stock photo of Nimitz signing the Japanese surrender aboard the USS Missouri, signed and inscribed in the lower border in black ink “To Stuart L. Daniels–With best wishes, C.W. Nimitz, Fleet Admiral, USN.” A diagonal crease to lower left, with creasing to two other corner tips, adhesive remnants and stains to border, a couple small edge tears, and signature and inscription a couple shades light, but completely legible, otherwise very good condition.
