Description

Postmarked the day of the Challenger explosion, McAuliffe endorses the message 'Teachers are the nicest people'

Poignant commemorative cover with a cachet honoring the 1986 launch of the Space Shuttle Challenger, featuring a drawing of the shuttle and boldly printed with the message, “Teachers are the nicest people!” Postmarked with the now-historic launch date of January 28, 1986, at Kennedy Space Center, and signed in black felt tip along the bottom edge, “S. Christa McAuliffe.” In fine condition, with the last two letters of her name touching the shuttle design. A silent reminder of one of America’s greatest tragedies. Pre-certified Scott Cornish and RRAuction COA.
