Naval pilot and astronaut (1935–1965) who was one of three crew members who perished in the Apollo 1 command module fire on January 27, 1967. Color glossy 8 x 10 NASA ‘red-numbered’ photo of Chaffee in a jacket and tie, signed in black felt tip. In fine condition, with some scattered light surface dings and impressions, not detracting from overall appearance.
