Edward H. White II

Astronaut (1930–1967) who was the first American to walk in space and who died in the flash fire that killed the entire Apollo 1 crew. FDC, bearing a five-cent postage stamp honoring White’s first space walk, as well as a Project Mercury postage stamp, and one other stamp honoring four “immortal chaplains,” signed in black ink, “Best wishes, Edward H. White II.” Cover also bears a February 3, 1962, Cape Canaveral postmark, and a January 27, 1967, Houston postmark. In fine condition. Pre-certified Scott Cornish and RRAuction COA.
