Goodrich, a former Massachusetts congressman and former lieutenant governor of the Bay State who had recently resigned. In full: “Old associations and personal regard for the writer of the written lead me to express the strong hope that his wishes may be gratified.” Light creasing and two vertical folds, one passing through the first letter of his name, otherwise fine condition.
