Color 8 x 10 Arthur Griffin photo of a young Williams taking a swing at Fenway Park in 1939, signed in blue felt tip. Matted and framed, with Griffin having signed the mat in pencil, to an overall size of 12.75 x 15.75. In very fine condition, with photographer’s embossed seal to lower right. A crystal clear Griffin image from the season that marked the beginning of Boston’s love affair with Teddy Ballgame. In 2002, when Williams died, Sports Illustrated used this same image for its cover. Accompanied by the original 1998 Collector’s Showcase of America show ticket where signature was acquired.
