Description

The highly-decorated founder of scouting

British military officer and founder of the world scouting movement (1857–1941). Impressive 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet portrait by Elliott & Fry of London, depicting the well-decorated Baden-Powell staring directly into the camera, nicely signed in ink on the image, “Robert Baden-Powell, Feb 1919.” Scattered trivial surface marks and light edge toning (heavier along right edge), otherwise fine condition. An unusual pose. Provenance: The Barry Hoffman Collection. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
