Polish pianist, composer, and politician (1860–1941) whose abounding talent and personal magnetism made him one of the most popular virtuosi of all time. Wonderful 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet portrait by the London Stereoscopic Company, showing the wild-haired pianist in profile, signed in fountain pen above his head, “I. J. Paderewski, 11 of Jan 1892, Buffalo.” Small stains to lower corner tips, some faint silvering to the image, and slight skipping to the “P” in the signature, otherwise fine condition. A well-preserved example. Provenance: The Barry Hoffman Collection. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
