Ike fondly recalls a visit to West Branch, Iowa, “because of my great respect and admiration for the late Herbert Hoover and his family”

TLS, one page, 7.25 x 9.25, personal letterhead, September 23, 1965. Letter to Cole Houghton. In part: “I have been travelling almost continuously for the past several weeks and that is the reason I have delayed so long in acknowledging your kindness. Of course the trip to West Branch, Iowa was, to me, a particular privilege and pleasure because of my great respect and admiration for the late Herbert Hoover and his family.” In fine condition, with light strip of toning along top edge. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
