Description

Inscribed to a fellow pianist and Gershwin interpreter

Vintage matte-finish 10 x 8 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “For John Pritchett—Sincerest & Best Wishes, George Gershwin Nov. 30, ‘31.” In very good condition, with heavy silvering moving in from the edges and affecting appearance, scattered soiling, and a brush to his last name. Pritchett, the photo’s original recipient, was a fellow pianist who performed Gershwin’s works, composed a series of musicals performed in London’s West End, and was resident musical director at the Theatre Royal, Windsor. A unique pairing of two like-minded musicians. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
