Description

Cy Young FDC with a Cooperstown cancellation

One of the most consistent and durable pitchers the game has ever known, Cy Young won 511 games, nearly 100 more than any other pitcher in history. He won thirty games five times and topped twenty wins an astounding fifteen times. In 1903, he won two games in the first modern World Series to help Boston to the championship. FDC, postmarked Cooperstown, N.Y., June 12, 1939, signed on the front in black ink. Cover also bears a mailing address in another hand. In fine condition, with a few stray ink marks and a few spots of mild toning and creasing. Nice item linking the game’s greatest pitcher and his permanent residence in the Hall of Fame. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
