The 40th president paid homage to one of his most famous screen roles as George Gipp in the film Knute Rockne, All American. According to our consignor, this football was signed shortly after Reagan authorized a bill for the college football coaches retirement fund, and is one of less than half a dozen in private hands. The ball presented to the chief executive is now kept at his presidential library in California.
