Description

Twenty years after Gone With the Wind, Gable returns to the Civil War South

Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Gable as Hamish Bond from the 1957 film Band of Angels, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Scotty, Best wishes, Clark G—.” In fine condition, with some light edge rippling and moderate contrast to signature and portion of inscription. The film proved to be a complete failure on release, both critically and commercially. Gable was annoyed by the comparisons with Gone With the Wind and decided to part company with Raoul Walsh, previously one of his favorite directors. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
