TLS signed “Wm. H. Taft,” one page, 7 x 9.25, personal letterhead, December 13, 1913. Letter to the Office of the Chancellor of New York University declining an invitation. In part: “I have your letter of December 10th and regret that I cannot come to your Phi Delta Phi banquet. I find that going from one banquet to another interferes with the first banquet, and keeps me up so late that it unfits me for work the next day.” In fine condition, with a few scattered light creases and light mirroring of letterhead to bottom of page.
