Description

On his first campaign stop after receiving the nomination, JFK makes his way through Oregon

Original 3.75 x 9 Oregon campaign brochure from 1960 signed next to his image in blue ballpoint. In very good condition, with light creasing and handling wear, and a tear along one of the folds (when open). According to our consignor, this brochure was signed during a September 7, 1960, campaign stop in Eugene, Oregon—the first stop on his campaign trail after becoming the Democratic Party’s nominee four months earlier. After landing at Mahlon Sweet Airport, a junior high school student asked for and received this signature before Kennedy left for Salem and Portland. The following day, while in California, JFK announced that he and wife were going to become parents again. His son, John, Jr., was born two months later. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
