A father of human flight signs a license allowing a follower to take to the skies

Partly printed leatherbound pilot’s license, four pages, 3 x 4.25, June 21, 1930. Certificate no. 7568, for V. Edward Smith, signed “Orville Wright” as Chairman of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale Contest Committee. Wright signs at the bottom of the first page, with the photo and signature of Smith alongside on page two. Inside back cover contains a request, printed in various languages, for assistance to the holder of the certificate. In very good condition, with uniform mild toning to first page, scattered light toning, handling wear, and soiling, light rubbing and handling wear to covers, and binding a bit loose and fragile. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
