AQS signed “Lew Wallace,” on a 4.75 x 3.5 off-white sheet, dated November 16, 1887. Wallace writes a quote referring to Queen Ne-Ne-Hofra from his famous novel. In full, "Each year of her life was the beginning of a new song more delightful than any of those which went before. Ben-Hur. 301.” Double matted with a small portrait and framed to an overall size of 11 x 17. In fine condition, with a light area of staining touching portions of his name and text.
