Photocopied DS, signed in ballpoint, “Muhammad Ali,” 14 pages, 8.5 x 11, June 14, 1973. Ali’s copy of his 1972 United States Federal Income Tax return for himself and his wife Belinda, listing Ali’s income for the year at $1,031,585, paying $393,245, and owing the IRS a grand total of $12,245 in taxes. Signed on the first page in blue ballpoint by Ali, as well as Belinda Ali and the preparer of the return. Remaining pages are copies of other forms for the return, including an extension for filing, Schedule A, B, C SE forms, as well as other related computations. In fine condition. In 1972, Ali faced six challengers, including a rematch with Jerry Quarry and a victory against Floyd Patterson that convinced ‘The Gentleman of Boxing’ to retire from the ring.
