A rare military commission featuring a beautiful signature of the famous Indian fighter while serving in the Northwest Territory

Partly-printed DS, signed “Willm Henry Harrison,” one page, 15 x 12.25, October 26, 1798. Military commission appointing Thomas Worthington, “a Colonel in the first Regiment of Militia of the county of Ross.” Signed on the left side by Northwest Territory Governor “A. St. Claire,” and signed at the bottom by Harrison as secretary. Matted and framed to an overall size of 24.5 x 20.5. In very good condition, with partial separations and paper loss along intersecting folds, some scattered light toning and soiling, and light overall mirroring of text. The white paper seal is intact and mostly crisp. Oversized. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
