The future king presents himself to the Columbia Yacht Club

King of England from January to December 1936, at which time he abdicated the throne to marry American divorcée Wallis Warfield Simpson. Vintage matte-finish 5 x 9 full-length photo of Edward in his military uniform, signed in fountain pen, “Edward P 1919.” Cloth matted and framed with a November 21, 1919, TLS from the captain of the HMS Renown regarding the photo for the Columbia Yacht Club, as well as an ALS dated two days later forwarding the photo to the yacht club, to an overall size of 23.5 x 14.5. Some scattered light creases, primarily to background, and some light silvering to image, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
