Partly-printed DS, signed “George R,” one page, 16.25 x 12.25, January 7, 1778. King George appoints “our trusty and Welbeloved James Stewart Esq.…to be Lieutenant Colonel of Our Fifth for Royal Irish Regiment of Dragoons.” Signed in the upper left in black ink, “George R.” Intersecting storage folds, some scattered light toning, and wrinkling, and a few small pinholes of paper loss along one fold, otherwise fine condition. The red wax seal is missing, but the impressed paper seal is crisp and intact, and George’s signature is very bold and prominent. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
