With troops needed for his policy of Indian Removal, Jackson appoints a captain in the Dragoons

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 13.5 x 17.5, May 10, 1834. President Jackson appoints David Perkins “a Captain in the Regiment of Dragoons.” Signed at the conclusion by Jackson and countersigned by Secretary of War Lewis Cass. Cloth matted and framed with a color portrait of Jackson and a small descriptive plaque, to an overall size of 32.75 x 26.5. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, scattered toning and soiling, a few pinholes of paper loss along folds, and a few wrinkles. The paper seal is slightly worn, but intact and Jackson’s signature measures 6.5 inches long. Oversized. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
