Sherman’s personal calling card, 3.5 x 2, with “W. T. Sherman—General—New York,” printed on the front, and signed on the reverse in black ink, “W. T. Sherman, General, 1888.” In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light foxing. Sherman enjoyed massive popularity, even long after his wartime heroics. The former commanding general acknowledged his wide-ranging esteem, and like most prominent men of his era, Sherman found it incumbent upon himself to carry calling cards.
