President Grant appoints Francisco Hererra to the post of “Consul General of Nicaragua at San Francisco, California.” Signed at the conclusion by Grant, and countersigned by Secretary of State Hamilton Fish. Archivally triple cloth matted and framed with a seated portrait of Grant, to an overall size of 35 x 23.5. In fine, clean condition, with intersecting folds and scattered light wrinkling. The white paper seal is crisp and intact. A less commonly-seen format from Grant’s presidency. Oversized. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
