TLS as president signed “D. E.,” one page, 7 x 9, White House letterhead, August 15, 1958. Letter to Senator Norris Cotton. In part, “Thank you for your telegrams about the bill to provide a method of regulating and fixing wage rates for employees of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Naval Shipyard. After extended consideration, I felt that I had no choice but to veto the legislation. I did…direct the Secretary of the Navy to make a complete review of this matter.” In fine condition, with an office stamp and notation to top corners and a staple hole and paperclip impression to top left.
