Description

The first and last men on the moon

Serene color 15 x 11 photo of an Earthrise taken from the moon, with two color 3 x 4.5 NASA white spacesuit portraits of Armstrong and Cernan inset into the photo in the upper corners, signed in black felt tip by Neil Armstrong and Gene Cernan, who adds a portion of his quote spoken as he was leaving the lunar surface: “As we leave the Moon at Taurus-Littrow, we leave as we came, and God willing, as we shall return, with peace and hope for all mankind.” Accompanied by a photocopy of a photo of Cernan taken at time of signing. In very fine condition. A scarce pairing of the first and last men on the moon on a truly breathtaking image, enhanced even more by Cernan’s lengthy and optimistic quotation, which he seldom adds to any signed material. Pre-certified Scott Cornish and RRAuction COA.
