“Part of my Army now occupies your name state” Patton writes on the day his 83rd Division closes in on Luxemberg

War-dated TLS signed “G. S. Patton, Jr.,” one page, 6 x 6, Headquarters, Third United States Army letterhead, October 4, 1944. Brief letter to Morry Luxemberg. In full: “Thanks very much for your letter with the clippings which are most interesting and which I had not formerly seen. Part of my Army now occupies your name state and I may have the opportunity of visiting the city named after you.” Double matted and framed with a photo of Patton in the field, to an overall size of 15 x 24.5. Last sentence underlined in red pencil, and overall toning, a bit heavier to bottom portion, otherwise fine condition. Oversized. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
