Description

E. E. Cummings

American writer and artist (1894–1962) known for his distinctively avant-garde poetry, which often employed unconventional punctuation and capitalization. Signed book: Seventy-One Poems. Later printing. NY: Oxford University Press, 1950. Hardcover with dustjacket, 5.75 x 8.25, 71 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page, “With best wishes to Paul & Sabizia from Estlin & Marion, February 28, 1950,” adding a small sketch of an elephant at the top of the page. In fine condition, with a mild shade of toning to signed page, and a few partial page separations to, and light staining along, the front hinge. Dustjacket rates very good, with chipping to edges, paper loss along bottom front edge, mild toning and soiling, and moderately heavy staining and sunning to spine. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
