Very nice Christmas card, measuring 4.75 x 5.75 closed, with a portrait of Senator and Mrs. Kennedy on the cover, young Caroline sitting in her father’s lap. Inside bears an embossed seal and a pre-printed sentiment, and is then signed at the bottom in black ink, “Best to all the Millers, Jack.” In fine condition.
Also included by a candid color glossy 3.5 x 2.5 photo of Kennedy at the Cleveland, Ohio, Steer Roast, with notation on reverse reading, “Steer Roast 9-27-59. In his speech at the even, Kennedy told the audience that he hoped to return the following year, “in a somewhat different capacity”…a reference to his recently announced White House bid. Jack must’ve really enjoyed that Steer Roast if it motivated him to send the Millers his Yuletide greetings! Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
