Description

Spokesman of the “Lost Generation”

Jazz Age novelist and short story writer. He is regarded as one of the greatest American writers of the twentieth century. Fitzgerald was the self-styled spokesman of the “Lost Generation,” Americans born in the 1890s who came of age during World War I. He finished four novels, left a fifth unfinished, and wrote dozens of short stories that feature themes of youth, despair, and age. Scarce crisply-penned and bold ink signature, “From F. Scott Fitzgerald,” with an inscription to “Thurmald Pollard,” having been nicely matted out, on an off-white slip. Triple suede matted and framed with a portrait of Fitzgerald and a name plaque, to an overall size of 12 x 22. In fine condition. A splendid example of a desirable literary autograph, ready for display. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
